Tryndamere, the Barbarian King
There lived a certain man in Freljord long ago,
And his eyes, so fierce, could emit a flaming glow.
Most people saw in him a fighter and a chief,
But to Freljord's foes he became a source of grief.
He could swing his weapon like a giant,
Full of power and great ire,
But he also was a man reliant
On internal fire.

He ruled the northern lands with Ashe, whose iron will
Made him join her tribe; reach a lasting formal deal.
In all affairs of state she was his stalwart guide.
Not the way he liked, but his wife curtailed his pride.
For the queen he was a useful leader.
In her choice love took no part.
He himself was not a skillful reader
Of her longing heart.

But despite their loveless marriage, their respect
For one another remained steadfast and strong.
More and more people saw them as capable of
Ruling Freljord for years and years.

This man's just got to go, declared his enemies.
They sent words to tribes: "We need help to kill him, please."
No doubt there were some chiefs who hated Trynda's might,
But they feared his wrath and abhorred the plan to fight.
Then one night the warhawks met regarding
Freljord's future in the world.
In the darkness they all spoke of starting
Civil wars of old.
